Farewells

This new year, 2011, is a big one for our family. In 5 months, Brandon will graduate from Law School - I can't believe we've almost reached the end!  The end of July brings the BAR exam, and hopefully by then, we will have found a job and home as we begin a new chapter of the career life..or at least post-school life.  We have made some wonderful friends here and had so much fun sharing our time here with them.
It makes me a little sad to think about having to part ways, as we all head out to follow the next big adventure. I've dreamed about buying a home with good friends moving in next door, sharing summer BBQ's and game nights...But I think with the economy being how it is, we'll each have to go out and do our best to just find a job that will work for each of our families.   I guess its times like these it is good to look back at the memories made, be grateful for the people who made them with you, for the ways these people changed you and helped you grow, and hold onto that. I hope that we will be able to keep in touch with each of our good friends we've made here...No matter what it has been a chapter in our lives we  have absolutely loved.

The Law School Crew:

Brandon & JoDee Yost           Nate & Kylie Walker                     Peter & Liz Bracken

Some of these good friends have been the Brackens.  When we moved out here to CT, we were excited to hear that there would be another Mormon couple starting at Quinnipiac Law with us.  It was fun to find out that it was Peter Bracken, who went to my home-town and graduated a few years after me, and his sweet wife.  Our boys have birthdays 10 days apart, we shared the same apartment building for a year & a half - traded babysitting, dinners, and pie parties.   Peter took classes each summer and so finished up this December, a semester ahead of Brandon - So we had to bid them farewell a few weeks ago.  They headed back to Utah and we wish them the best as they prepare for the BAR and look for jobs.  One perk of them being in Utah is hopefully we'll get to visit them when we go visit family!  We love you Peter and Liz!

We were so sad when we left Ames. It took us a good year to stop talking about it all the time (I'm sure we annoyed many a new acquaintance.) But I'm here to tell you, thanks to blogs and such, you really are able to stay in touch with people you care about all over states. It's pretty cool, plus, when they move away, you end up having resources and visiting options all over the place! Fun!

I can't believe your husband is so close! Wow - that went by really fast. Good luck with your next adventure. We're also waiting for ours. It's almost like waiting for a mission call. Where are we going next?
Fun.

We love and miss you guys!!! I'm so glad we got to experience law school together. You blessed our lives so much and we couldn't ask for better friends. Hope you make it to Utah soon! *hugs*
