Brandon Yost, J.D.

We made it!!

Brandon finished Law school and is now an official proud owner of J.D. degree.  Not only did he make it through but he did it with honors and received a special award for his work in Tax Law. I was actually crying a bit as the graduates walked in...I'm turning out to be quite the sap these days.  I'm so proud of all his hard work in and out of the classroom. He did such a great job at school, at work, and, most important to me, always made time to be an awesome husband and Daddy.  It's been a great, challenging three years and we've loved it. We've made life-long friends who are setting out on new adventures of their own.  I've had a hard time letting this "chapter" of our lives go: the people, places, and routines we've gotten used to.  But, we are grateful for the times we've had and are excited to see what adventure is next.  In the meantime - CT BAR, here we come!
Brandon's parents, oldest sister & her hubby (also a lawyer) flew out to celebrate the occasion with us.  They took the red-eye in to be here for Sunday graduation and then we had the whole week to play with them and show them our favorites in New England: We covered a lot of ground: a day in Boston, Lexington & Concord, 2 days in NYC, a day exploring CT, and a day exploring Newport, RI.  I'm pretty sure they needed a vacation after they got home.  Olivia and Ben loved having them here too...in fact, every time Ben goes down for a nap or bed he has to look at the window and say goodnight to "Grandpa's black truck" (the van they rented for all our sightseeing).  We're so lucky to have such supportive encouraging family cheering us on.

YEA! A huge congratulations - wow, that is so cool!
So, the CT BAR? Does that mean you'll be looking for a job out there? Or will he take it in other states, too? Just curious.
So exciting!

Thanks Jess! Most likely we'll be around here. We love the East, we love feeling like we can really serve in the ward, and all of Brandon's contacts and networking people are here. He's thinking he'll probably take the NY Bar next Feb. and possibly MA...Then once you're 5 years in, 30 of the states have reciprocity that will allow you to work there without doing the BAR. It is an exciting time!

I've been waiting for this post! Congratulations! I'm so sorry that my little arrival kept us from coming but we love all of you and are SO proud of you as a family. It is a family adventure.
